Virtual CBT & ERP Therapy at GroundWork

GroundWork Counseling provides virtual therapy options for clients residing in Florida, Maine, Vermont, Montana and South Carolina.

GroundWork is proud to offer virtual appointments for clients ages 9+. Our therapists have over 4 years of virtual therapy experience, and have helped hundreds of individuals and families via an evident-based telehealth model. We utilize a specialized HIPAA approved software to insure your session is private and secure.

Recent research has shown that therapy conducted through telehealth methods, such as real time virtual conferencing or video-conferencing, can be just as effective as in-person therapy. This means that even though therapy is done remotely, the therapeutic benefits are the same. A number of studies have found strong evidence to support this claim: for instance, one study demonstrated that telehealth therapy (including cognitive-behavioral therapy, or CBT, and exposure and response prevention therapy, or ERP) was as effective in treating anxiety disorders as therapy conducted in person. Similarly, another study found that the quality of virtual therapy was similar to traditional therapy when it comes to helping people with depression.

Similar to in-person therapy, telehealth Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) can be extremely beneficial for those struggling with mental health difficulties. The same principles of therapy apply virtually as in person, allowing for the same high level of evidence-based care from the comfort of your own home.

The beauty of telehealth / virtual therapy is that therapy is effective, and provides a more efficient therapeutic experience; one that does not involve a commute to the therapists office, allowing therapy to be more flexible and accessible, while still providing the same level of care.

Why Make The Switch To Virtual Therapy?

Making the switch to virtual therapy can open up a world of possibilities for those looking for specialized therapy; At GroundWork Counseling in Orlando we offer online video/teleleaht therapy so you may receive “real” CBT therapy from the comfort of your home. Even though Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is the gold-standard for the treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and anxiety disorders (social anxiety, specific phobias, generalized anxiety disorder) and it has been recognized to be extremely effective in countless research studies, very few therapists are well-trained in evidence-based CBT.  Therefore it can be very difficult to find certified or well-trained CBT therapists in most parts of Florida. Online therapy, also known as telehealth, teletherapy or video sessions connects you with one of our experienced, well-trained CBT therapists.  At GroundWork Counseling in Orlando, we offer online telehealth therapy using a HIPAA-compliant telemedicine platform for clients in Florida who prefer the convenience of doing therapy at home.  Our CBT teletherapy is offered to adults, teens and children who live in all cities and towns of Florida, even those who reside outside of Orlando / Central Florida.

Your teletherapy experience begins with speaking directly to our staff at GroundWork Counseling who will help to determine if online therapy is right for you.  After discussing your needs, we will recommend one of our clinicians.  Next, we will schedule your first session and send you a link to complete intake paperwork.  After your paperwork is complete, you will receive an email with information about your first telehealth session, including a link to meet with your therapist at your scheduled appointment time.
