Adriana Rodriguez, MS, RMHCI | Child & Adolescent CBT Therapist
M.S., Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern (IMH26408)
At GroundWork, I provide evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) exclusively for children and adolescents navigating anxiety disorders, depression, emotional dysregulation, adjustment disorders, and behavioral challenges. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and goal-oriented, with a focus on helping clients understand the connections between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, while developing strategies that promote meaningful, lasting change beyond the therapy room.
In therapy, my goal is to create a supportive and welcoming space where children and adolescents feel safe to explore challenges, face fears, and build skills for growth. I take a collaborative, caring, and goal-focused approach, emphasizing the development of a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship. In therapy, I work with young clients to build a skillset and develop strategies they can apply both in session and in daily life. I believe therapy is most effective when the tools we practice together translate into lasting skills, empowering children and teens to become their own advocates for emotional wellbeing. I am committed to providing thoughtful, high-quality care to both clients and their families.
With younger children, I create an engaging and playful therapy experience, using creativity, humor, and interactive activities to make learning new skills fun and accessible. I collaborate closely with families, offering guidance and practical strategies to support growth and reinforce positive changes at home. My approach is designed to help each child feel understood, capable, and confident, while building resilience and tools they can use to navigate challenges both now and in the future.
About me: I was born in Puerto Rico and later relocated to Pennsylvania during my elementary years, where I remained through the completion of my Master’s degree. I am fluent in Spanish and value staying closely connected to my family and friends on the island. After completing my graduate training, I had the privilege of working with children and adolescents in both clinical and school-based settings, supporting clients with a variety of concerns. Through these experiences, I have developed skills utilizing evidence-based strategies, behavioral interventions, and skill-building techniques to help clients manage emotions, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and build practical skills. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, staying active through fitness and volleyball, paddle boarding, soap making, traveling, and doting on my dachshund.
Education and Background: I earned my Bachelor’s Degree from Lock Heaven University of Pennsylvania, and completed my Master’s Degree in School Counseling and Mental Health Licensure at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. Prior to joining GroundWork, I have worked across a variety of clinical and educational settings supporting children and adolescents with diverse mental health needs. My experience includes providing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to children and teens in outpatient environments, as well as working in school-based roles supporting elementary-aged students. I have supported youth experiencing anxiety, depression, adjustment-related challenges, and disruptive behavior concerns. I have also been involved in social-emotional learning and individual counseling within school settings, helping children build skills in emotional regulation, peer relationships, and anxiety management. This work has included supporting concerns such as selective mutism and behavioral challenges in collaboration with school teams. I am a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern in the state of Florida and practice under the supervision of Courtney Hubscher, LMHC, Diplomate of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as I work toward full licensure.
